Mr. Miguel Hanson, an Houston based IT consultant and professional designed a computer program to make the computer, play the role of a minister during a betrothal. He wanted a person to officiate over his betrothal to Diana Wesley. He could not find anyone to do it and thus decided that, being the IT consultant and web developer that he was, he would design for himself, a computer minister. Thus he designed one and named it Rev. Bit.
The question that motivated Mr. Hanson was,”When computers can create friends, why not ministers ?”. The minister was to greet 30 odd guests apart from telling stories about the couple. It was also to lead the couple through the “I do”s.
Mr. Hanson decided a virtual mouse to keep the computer informed as to when it was supposed to deliver the speeches saved in it.
The author says that Mr. Hanson is a man of great humor and witty. He has reasons to say that. Mr. Hanson designed the computer to say the message “If anyone here has anything to say that might change their minds or has any objections, they do not want to hear it and I will not recognize your objections since Miguel has programmed me to only recognize his commands.”. Isn’t that funny ?
